Missions Ministry

Key Verse: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19

Theme for 2010: “Who’s Missing? Whose Mission?” [Who is missing from the kingdom of God and whose mission is it to tell them of Jesus?]

Daily/Monthly Activities – Prayerfully consider joining several of these:

1. Look for and read the monthly Missions flier in your bulletin. Check out what’s on the Missions table under the Missions Bulletin Board. Be informed -- know how to be a part of God’s plans for us to Pray * Give * Go.
2. Volunteering at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission – We serve on the third Tuesday of each month. Meet at the LV Rescue Mission at 4:45 pm to serve from 5-6pm. If you have food, gently used clothing or household items to donate, please bring it on any Sunday.
3. On the first of each month, pick up any one or more of the monthly prayer guides available on the Missions Table.
4. Did you get your own “Who’s Missing puzzle piece?” Will you commit to pray each day for a year for your chosen unreached people group? God has awesome plans and YOU can be a part of them! "...The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." (James 5:16b) Puzzle pieces on the Missions table – pick one up for you!!
5. Imock Hwang & Kay Park, of the Dongsan Korean Church here in our building. Their witness is flourishing in the local Korean community. Please keep Imock, Kay, Chloe and Lewis as well as the congregation in your prayers.

Annual Events

• Annie Armstrong Easter Offering to support Southern Baptist missionaries in the US and Canada.
• Cooperative Missions Education concentrating on a specific part of the world.
• Church Missions trip in 2010. Pray for personal and corporate guidance.
• Missions Conference Weekend – May 21–23, 2010
• Muslim Bible Day, when each $5 donation prints, ships and distributes an Arabic Bible to Muslim countries around the world.
• Operation Christmas Child – you are invited to fill a shoebox with school supplies, clothes and toys to be sent to children in need in the US and around the world. A book telling the story of Jesus is included.
• Lottie Moon Christmas Offering to fund Southern Baptist missionaries around the world.

God asks you and me to Pray * Give * Go. I challenge you to seek God’s will in your life related to this very short list: Pray * Give * Go
