Pastor Dave (Senior Pastor)
I did not grow up in a Christian home. I was among the unchurched when the Lord showed me that I needed the forgiveness and grace that can only be found through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
In 1988, God saved me by his amazing grace. In 1989 I went on a missions trip to Austria. It was during that trip when God began to call me into full time Christian ministry. Immediately following that mission trip, I surrendered my plans to the Lord and went into ministry.
Over the past 20 years, I have been involved in international missions, church planting, discipleship and pastoral leadership. My ministry passions are expository preaching and teaching God’s word, outreach, and discipleship. I love to see people come to faith and begin to understand and apply the truths of God’s word to their lives.
After many years of fruitful ministry on the east coast, in the fall of 2005, I learned that Las Vegas was one of the most unreached cities in America. I was serving as the senior pastor of an established church and God began to burden my heart with a desire to impact Las Vegas with the Gospel. My wife and I spent a lot of time seeking the Lord about the spiritual needs in Vegas. In 2006, God called me to lead my family to pack our home and move to Las Vegas to impact sin city with the word of God and the grace of God in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I love to read. Some of my favorite authors include Lloyd Jones, Jonathan Edwards, and Charles Spurgeon. I enjoy traveling, spending time with family, running, and going to the beach.
I am married to my best friend. We met at church. My wife has a heart for women’s evangelism and discipleship. She is a published author and Ladies Bible study teacher. While I was a student at Southern, my wife also took classes to become further equipped to write ladies Bible studies and to disciple women in the church. During our time at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary she was actively involved in CBMW and completed her MDiv. in Biblical / Theological Studies, ThM. and doctoral coursework in Christian Education. Currently, she dedicates her ministry efforts at home, homeschooling our son and leading a Classical Conversations homeschool group at the church, writing Bible studies for publication and mentoring women. She also serves the Southern Baptist Convention as a Trustee at GGBTS.
I completed my Master of Divinity in Theology w/ Biblical languages and my doctoral coursework at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. I am currently completing my dissertation for my doctorate from SBTS. Over the years I have been affiliated with The Gospel Coalition, Together for the Gospel, 9 Marks Ministry, the Southern Baptist Convention, and the Evangelical Theological Society.
