3:30-4:20pm What is my goal when I am reading the Bible?
4:30-5:20pm How do I understand different types of literature in the Bible?
*10 minutes will be allotted for questions and comments at the end of each session.
COST:
A love offering will be taken to assist Dr. Plummer with travel expenses from Louisville, KY where he lives and teaches seminary courses.
About the Key Note Speaker:
Robert L. Plummer, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of New Testament Interpretation, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
Dr. Plummer is a biblical scholar with a missionary heart.
Plummer teaches Greek, New Testament Interpretation Classes and Hermeneutics at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He has served in missionary assignments of varying length in China, Israel, Trinidad, Ghana, Malaysia, and Turkey. Dr. Plummer has written 40 Questions About Interpreting the Bible (Kregel, 2010). Articles written by Dr. Plummer have appeared in Westminster Theological Journal, Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society, New Holman Bible Dictionary, The Southern Baptist Journal of Theology, and other publications. He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society and the Institute for Biblical Research.
Dr. Robert L. Plummer reads, studies, talks, and writes about the Bible. Plummer comments, “The joy of studying the Scriptures is that through them we hear the voice of the living God and gaze with wonder on Messiah Jesus and the sufficiency of his atoning death.”
When he is not busy teaching Greek and New Testament classes at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY, Plummer is serving as an elder at Sojourn Community Church. Plummer’s primary ministry role, however, is pastor of the little flock in his home. He and his wife, Chandi, have three delightful daughters – Sarah Beth, Chloe, and Anabelle. Plummer’s hobbies include long-distance running, enjoying international foods and cultures, and traveling.
